Mini-Me minor was down in the basement playing soldiers on a rainy day during Dad-Camp (more later). Want to play, says I. Yes, says Mini-Me Minor.
So, one game set up later we have Captain Black trying to drill into th earth to set of an atomic bomb while Captain Scarlet and Blue try to thwart his nefarious deeds. Or at least that was the plan...
The set-up, Balck and cronies have a core drill going, Scarlet, Blue and Spectrum troops enter bottom right in an SPV and hover-APC
Nearly ready to get going
Mine, robots and all sorts await Spectrum
Vroom, vroom, hover, swish
Ready when you are, Chief!
Scarlet in the SPV charges ahead, easily dodging the mines
Scarlet blows away a robot
Blue and Troopsers debus, BLAM!, BLAM!, more robots down
ITS ON! The core drill starts
Robots rush to counter Spectrum
A lone defender vainly tries to eshoot down the SPV
Well ,you know how that would go...
Th estompy warbots move towards the SPV
A hit!, it immobilises the SPV
Scarlet bails, his anti-mysteron gun ready
More defenders rally, at least briefly
As I said, briefly. At this point Mini-Me Minor and PSectrum anre taking names and kicking Bottom. However, storm clouds are gathering, he was distinctly unhappy about losing the SPV
And miss, Blue and Scarlet lead the assault
Defenders huddle around the drill for any cover they can find
Black is firmly in control (Black, in disguise, is the guy pointing), the atomic bomb starts being driven towards the drill
The attack seems to stall, Mini-Me is losing his momentum...
The defenders shoot, its just a flesh-wound shrugs Blue
In return Blue and Scarlet blow away a warbot
Over other side the Spectrum Troops decide they have had enough, as does Mini-Me Minor. Unfortunately, this was GAME-OVER!
Bummer, but that's the way it goes gaming with kids sometimes. Perhaps it was me and I missed the point at which I should have stopped and given him a snack. Maybe next time...
were did you get the vehicles and the figures from
ReplyDeletethe game looks awesome
ReplyDeleteHi,
ReplyDeleteThe SPV is Konami (ebay), the APC is Khurasan (four Nations APC, its supposed to be 15mm, but it v.large for that).
The yellow figs are 1/72 modern ground crew from Revell, the green/grey security are old Dark Future (GW), the sand-coloured robots are Heavy Gear (DP9), the green robots and Spectrum are from MJ figures in the UK. Spectrum are from thier Dune range, the Atreides packs.
THNAKS COOL
